The Wonderful Name of Jesus: Part 2 - Diving Deeper

A Victory Parade!

"Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!"
Colossians 2:15 (TPT)

Oh the wonderful Name of Jesus, He has triumphed over our enemies. Our Conquering Hero has stripped away every weapon that the powers of darkness could use against us. He has stripped away all of our enemies' authority and power to accuse us. All of this He did through the Cross.

What a wonderful Name is the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

A day is coming when our Conquering King shall once and for all make an end to evil, casting Satan into the eternal lake of fire.

Until that day, the demonic realm is conquered by Christ yet active in this world. Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 6:12,

"Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage."

When Jesus was praying just prior to His arrest He prayed for His disciples (and this prayer is now for us).

"I am not asking that you remove them from the world, but I ask that you guard their hearts from evil, For they no longer belong to this world any more than I do." John 17:15

Family, you are in the world, but you are not of it. In Christ Jesus you are no longer subject to the rule and reign of the god of this world, Satan.

God has seen fit to guard us from evil by putting us into Christ Jesus and by giving us, the Church, use of the Mighty Name of Jesus!!

Beginning this morning and for the next 6 weeks, there will be a time of prayer at the church for our schools, students and staff. We believe that God has great plans for children and youth!

We are gathering together to pray, to agree with God's good plans and to resist any plans the enemy might plot against schools, students and staff. May God's will in Heaven be done on earth.

The church will be set up for personal devotions from 8:30-9 and then prayer will be from 9-10. This time is a time of come and go so if you happen to be in town we would love to have you pop in for as long as you can. Your prayers are powerful in Jesus' Name!
