Life Through The Spirit: Part 4 - Diving Deeper
The Holy Spirit is the place of provision.
“I would like to learn just one thing from you; Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?”
- Galatians 3:2-3
This week Pastor Merodee concluded the series on Life in the Spirit. We were reminded that through the grace and mercy of God, Jesus became the price paid for our redemption and restoration into relationship with God. By the finished work of Jesus we are found in Christ!
Colossians 3 tells us the remarkable truth that we have been raised with Christ in his resurrection. So then we are not to set our minds and hearts on earthly things. We therefore, are to set our hearts and minds on Godly things, things that are above everything else. We are told that we are able to do this because we are hidden with Christ in God. Because of this astounding truth, we realize that we don't do or finish anything by the flesh any longer (Galatians 3).
We now do things and finish things by means of the Spirit!’
The Spirit provides for us perfectly in every situation, we need only to rid our selves of selfish and fleshly stirrings and motivations.
As we observe and are obedient to the will of God in our lives, we find ourselves in a place of trusting the Holy Spirit to provide everything that we need to walk out the will and plan of God for our lives.
The Holy Spirit gifts us with many things in order to do this work that he calls us to. Wisdom, discernment, peace, joy, healing, miracles, signs and wonders, and speaking in tongues are just some of the provisions that become available to the believer.
Faith, the precious gift of faith, allows us to recon what is ours and available to us through Jesus as we are found in him. it is this reality that makes me to remember and trust what Jesus said to those who would receive the deposit of the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascended; we would do greater things than he did... How amazing is the provision of the Holy Spirit for every situation? So amazing that we will do greater things than Jesus did... Because Jesus is doing them through us!
There are so many scriptures which exhort us in the truth of equipping and provision.
to each of them, we say "Yes and Amen!"
And then with sincerity and gratitude I thank God!!

Prayer Prompts
Pray that we would be receptive to the Holy Spirit equipping and provision in our lives. That, by faith, we would take hold of that which Jesus has made available to us.
Pray that as we go through this series on life in the Spirit many would receive fresh and powerful encounters with the Spirit. Maybe that is being baptized in the Spirit for the first time, or maybe it is a fresh revelation of the indwelling of the Power of God!
Pray for those not yet baptized to take that step of obedience.
Pray for the influx of souls coming into the Kingdom!
